Pizza rolls were created in the mid-1960s in Duluth, Minnesota, United States, by product developer and cook Beatrice Ojakangas. She worked for food industry entrepreneur Jeno Paulucci, who specialized in canned and frozen Chinese food under the Chun King brand and was looking for new uses for his egg roll wrapping machine.

You need…

  • Premade pizza kit from the store (or make your own dough, recipe not included here)
  • Smoked ham (preferably shredded)
  • Shredded cheese
  • Oregano
  • Garlic powder
  • Tomato sauce (unless included in the pizza kit)

How to do…

  • Roll out the pizza dough and spread on the tomato sauce (included in the kit)
  • Season the sauce with a little oregano and garlic powder
  • Add the smoked ham and shredded cheese
  • Roll up the pizza
  • Cut into pieces of a suitable length
  • Place them in the airfryer, stand the pieces upright
  • Sprinkle with a little shredded cheese
  • Cook for 10 minutes at 180 °C
